Real Estate Brokers vs Du Proprio. We Ain't Scared

Here's broker Patrice Groleau, owner of Old Montreal's McGill Immobilier, talking about why he isn't particularly bothered by the likes of For Sale By Owner (FSBO) sites like Du Proprio.

As he puts it "Some people like to cut their own lawn, paint their own house, do their own taxes and invest their own money," He has nothing against those who do, but he sees value in working with people who are the best trained and most professional at what they do.

 Well put, M Groleau.

Now We Gotta Worry About Dinosaurs?

It used to be that my biggest headache as a realtor was people who thought they could do better selling their houses themselves. (Generally you can't.)

Now it seems I have to worry about fetishists who might be willing to trade their property for one year of service from a "personal dinosaur".  How do I compete with that?

At left is an actual Craigslist real estate ad that I picked up from Regretsy, a website usually devoted to handicrafts and DIY gone terribly wrong.

I would love to know how it turned out for the would-be dinosaur. Sadly, the original posting has expired.

Here's the Regretsy link.

Now That's What I Call Full Disclosure

This vendor gets full marks for honesty, but I'm not sure it will help unload the property. Actually, the photo is a fake. It's from a series of "de-motivational" posters. Funny, though.
